COMPETITION
Competition is a major and fun part of the barbershop world that helps keep us focused on raising the bar of performing excellence. We come together in a spirit of lighthearted contest, to see who’s really got top form. We root for each other, cheer each other on, and once the medals have been handed out, we sing and party into the night!
Regional
Every year in April Border Lakes Region 2 brings ringing barbershop chords to Dearborn, MI at our regional contest. Dozens of choruses and quartets come together to sing and compete. There are four judging categories, Music, Sound, Expression and Visual Communication, and the groups bring complete and entertaining packages. If you’re anywhere near Dearborn, MI in the spring, please come be a part of the fun, and root for Border Lakes Region 2!
International
Sometime in the fall the winners of all regional contests — and a few “wildcards” — gather together at International competition. In 2022 International competition will be held in Phoeniz, AZ in September. You can view the complete contest on a live webcast on the Sweet Adelines International website. This is the ultimate female barbershop competition — not to be missed!
